Three Harbors Garden Club
Proudly serving Three Harbors Garden Club for more than 3 years.
The Three Harbors Garden Club (THGC) was founded in 1952 by five trailblazing women Mrs. Percy H. Jennings, Mrs. Stanley M. Rumbough, Mrs. Henry C. Taylor, Mrs. B. Tappen Fairchild, and Mrs. Willis D. Wood in the Cold Spring Harbor area of Long Island after recognizing a need for a small garden club for women. Mrs. Fairchild shared her desire to instill a love of gardening with young neighbors. She believed that garden club members should “spread the love of gardening; be alert to the conservation of our natural resources; develop civic mindedness and raise bigger and better horticultural specimens.” Each founding member made their mark on the THGC community in various ways after World War II, and beyond. The Club was admitted to The Garden Club of America in 1959.
